About Tashkent Medical Academy
Tashkent Medical Academy is one of the oldest and most respected medical institutions in Uzbekistan, with a history dating back to April 13, 1919. It began as the Faculty of Medicine at Turkestan State University, marking the start of modern medical education in the region. P. Sitnovsky was appointed as the first dean and played a vital role in building the academic foundation.
The faculty graduated its first batch of 27 medical students in 1922 and rapidly expanded in the following years. In 1931, the institution was renamed the Tashkent Medical Institute and developed into a major medical education center in Central Asia. During World War II, the institute supported the war effort by operating evacuation hospitals and providing medical services. Over time, the university expanded its faculties, including dentistry and pediatrics, and strengthened research and clinical training.
From the 1960s onward, it also welcomed international students from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Continuous development in education, infrastructure, and global partnerships helped the university grow into a modern medical institution. Today, Tashkent Medical Academy continues its mission of training highly qualified doctors and healthcare professionals for Uzbekistan and the international medical community.

What are the Eligibility requirements to Join Tashkent Medical Academy?
Eligibility Marks Required: – The applicant must have completed their 10+2 (senior secondary education) with at least 50% (45% for candidates from reserved categories) marks in PCB from a recognized board. |
The applicant must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year. |
Admission: – Admission will be granted based on the scores achieved in the entrance examination. |

– Total Duration 6 years (5 years academics + 1 year internship)
– Language English (with optional Uzbek/Russian language support for clinical settings)
– Degree Awarded MD (equivalent to MBBS)
– Recognition WHO & NMC/India recognized
– Clinical Exposure Hospital-based clinical training in later years and internship
